This child’s colorwork hat, named for the cold place I grew up, features a turned brim, simple colorwork, and a gently pointed top.

Yarn: Worsted weight wool. 80-120 yd 73-110 m of main color, 30-50yd 28-46 m of contrasting color.

Needles: Size 6 US 4 mm 16 in. 40.6 cm circular or double pointed needles (dpns) and size 7 US 4.5 mm 16 in. 40.6 cm circular and a set of dpns in the same size. Or whatever size needles you need to get gauge.

Gauge: 5.25 sts/1 in.(2.5 cm)
