Learn how to make your own spooky skeleton doll with this digital crochet pattern, which comes with an 19-page PDF document in full color with detailed instructions and tons of large, clear photos. You’ll also find a handy list of all the materials used as well as gauge information and a list of all abbreviations used in the pattern.

This pattern is written in English and uses American crochet terminology. I also include detailed instructions on how to create a wire armature to make the doll able to be posed. There is also an option for glue basting part of the skeleton to stiffen it, and the tutorial is also included in the pattern.

Sizing
Mr. Bones is approximately 4” wide across the shoulders and 12” tall.

To make the Mr. Bones doll, you’ll need the following materials:
• worsted weight yarn (amounts and colors listed in the pattern)
• Crochet hook size 4.00mm
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester stuffing small amount

Optional Supplies:
• Materials for glue basting: fabric glue, ¼ cup of water, a cheap paintbrush or q-tip.
• Materials to create wire armature: 5 pipe cleaners in a color matching the skeleton’s bones and something to cut them with.

Pattern Skill Level: Advanced (rated this way because of all the tiny pieces and the amount of sewing needed, plus the armature. You should be familiar with all these skills before starting this pattern)

Gauge swatch included with pattern.

Note: Doll doesn’t stand up on it’s own. All limbs (and the spine) can be bent in any direction, and will hold their shape, so Mr. Bones can sit or hang on most things, but if you want him to stand up straight on his own, he’ll need support.
