These socks are knitted with a texture based on a fishermen’s sweater from an unknown Dutch village where they used to wear bowler hats many, many years ago.
The picture of those fishermen wearing knitted sweaters and bowler hats is seen above and you can find this picture in a book called:
“Nederlandse visserstruien met breipatronen” by H. van der Klift-Tellegen. (Bilt 1983)
The book has also been translated in English.
These Socks are designed for my son Bart with feet size 49, but can easily be adjusted to another size.
