You need:
Aran (8 wpi; 10 ply; no 4: Medium) or Bulky weight (7 wpi; 12 ply; no 5 Bulky) yarn that gives you the needed gauge in two colours such as Drops Alaska, about 50g or 77 yards total
Knitting needle size US 8 (5 mm) or to obtain gauge 4” x 4” (10 x 10 cm) = 16 sts x 22 rows (in stockinette stitch)
Beads and tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
St(s) – stitches
RS and WS – right and wrong side
K – knit
P –purl
Kfb – knit in front and back of stitch
K2tog – knit two stitches together
