Everyone needs of a good pair of fingerless mitts for those chilly winter days! A friend admired a pair of mitts that I’d knit for myself years ago and demanded that I replicate them. Here’s to Misty for making me get the pattern down in writing!

Frothy bobbles frame the entwined cables with a bobble medallion in the center. A quick one-skein knit in the round on size 5 & 6 needles in Malabrigo Worsted. As warm and satisfying as a steaming latté!

These mittens are worked in the round, beginning with a bobble cast-on and a nice long length of k1, p1 ribbing before beginning the cable and thumb gusset. Ends with a bobble bind-off. Palms are in St st.

Techniques for these mitts include bobbles, bobble cast-on and bind-off, cables, k1-p1 rib, garter stitch, and stockinette stitch. Gauge isn’t vital but changes can alter fit and yardage. Circumference at palm: 8”. Length, not including bobbles: 9”.

Yarn: Malabrigo Worsted, an aran weight, was used in pattern. You will need approx. 140-160 yards.

Needles: US 5 (3.75mm) and US 6 (4mm) DPNs; or size to obtain gauge.

Materials: cable needle, markers (3), and a st holder or scrap of yarn.
