Misty Mornings
There’s something special about misty mornings. The world feels quiet and still, the air chilly and calm, as the rising sun refracts through millions of tiny water droplets. The cables on these ankle socks mimic the way mist twines its way through trees and buildings, before it slowly rises to reveal the dawning day.
Sizes
There are four sizes available in pattern: 1 (18cm foot circumference); 2 (20cm foot circumference); 3 (22.5cm foot circumference); and 4 (25cm foot circumference). Note that the sizes listed are measured around the sock, so find your size by measuring your foot and then subtracting 10%.
Yarn and Yardage
The “leg” section of this ankle sock is quite short, so a single 100g skein of sock yarn will be plenty, and you may even be able to get two pairs out of one skein depending on the size you knit. The yardage is approx. 170 - 260 yards, depending on size.
Notions
Knitting needles (DPNs or circulars), cable needle, stitch markers, darning needle, and sock blockers.
Techniques
This pattern has quite a bit of cabling, so a comfortable knowledge of cabling is a must. Other than that, this pattern is suitable for sock knitters who are familiar with cuff down, in the round, heel flap and gusset sock construction.
The cable pattern is both charted and written.
