This hat is knitted flat with a series of mitered squares and garter stitch ridges. The length can be easily adjusted by knitting more or fewer garter stitch rows. A stretchy bind off is used for the garter stitch band. Modular knitting is a color playground! Try knitting each mitered square a different color. Or try knitting the mitered squares one color and the garter stitch ridges a different color. Gradient dyed and speckled yarn can be used to great effect as well. Make it your own!
