The granny square used in this pattern is free and with permission to use and sell (the tote pattern) from designer Sue Rivers(via email)

Following the pattern, you will have a 14 x14 x 5 finish project, big enough to stuff your own stash to carry with you anywhere you want, plus baby diaper and baby bottle!

Gauge of the square may change according to the yarn you use. If you will use your scrap yarns (I consider the granny square a yarn buster) make sure they are of the same weight (worsted or sports yarn).

To make the sides of the bag and handle, you will need more than a skein of yarn or about 450 yards at the most (I suggest Red Heart super saver, it makes the tote sturdy or non-collapsing).

PS. I emailed Sue Rivers to ask permission

Your bags are lovely!
Yes, you can sell the pattern for them,
with credit/link to me for the granny square.
Thank you for asking!

Note:Even if a motif is free pattern, it is always a nice act to ask permission from the designer, putting the link is not enough, letting the designer know you used it and is selling it is an act of respect.
