Shawl is worked, in a modular fashion, from rows of Rectangles. The first row consists of one Rectangle, the second row consists of two Rectangles, the third row consists of three Rectangles and so on. Refer to Assembly Diagram for placement of Rectangles.

Each Rectangle is made with two miters (angles) formed by working decreases on every other row.
