Mitered Short-Row Capelet
by Laura Bryant
This pattern may be found at the bottom of page 40 as part of the article, “Working all the Angles” by Laura Militzer Bryant.
Materials:
- 5 2oz/56g hanks (each approx 118yd/106m) of Prism’s Symphony (merino/cashmere/nylon superwash) in gelato (A)
- 3 hanks in beige (B)
- One each sizes 4, 5, & 6 (3.5, 3.75, & 4mm) circular needles, 32”/80cm length or size to obtain gauge
- One extra size 6 (4mm) needle for three-needle bind-off
- Two ¾“/20mm buttons
Measurements:
- Shoulder: 32”/81.5cm
- Length 18.5”/47cm
Notes:
- The capelet is formed from eight joined modules. Shaping is built into modules through short rows.
- Row gauge is very important. The width of the garment will vary if row gauge is off. If a larger size capelet is desired, stitches can be added easily.
