Mitered Square Baby Bonnet
Please note: The new PDF version IS FREE now. It has been slightly rewritten for clarity. Nothing important has been changed.
This pattern is worked from side to side, using mitered square shaping. Required skills: i-cord, e-loop increases, double decreases, crochet (for the ruffle). It does not require picking up knit stitches, seaming, or purling.
The crochet instructions use US terminology.
This pattern may be used for charity knitting or gift giving without further permission from the designer.
WARNING: One of the bonnets on the Projects tab still has pictures of a skull wearing the bonnet, in addition to its other pictures. However, you can now safely click the Projects tab without seeing a skull in a baby bonnet. Just check the individual project notes (right by the Ravatars) and avoid the one that starts with WARNING.
You see… when I went to photograph the bonnet before giving it away, GK the skull was the only thing I had even close to the right size to model it. I personally think he’s cute, so I didn’t realize how disturbing other people might find the picture. I have now had this pointed out to me. Several times.
I did finally take and upload a photo of the baby I gave it to--took me long enough! In the meantime, Propertrappings kindly photoshopped the bonnet onto a dog and my Ravatar… I’ve left them up so the comments make a little sense. If you find them disturbing, please comment or PM me and I’ll take them down.
