Mithril
This design is part of The Cottage Garden Vol. 2 collection, which is inspired by the Hobbits imagined by J.R.R. Tolkien in The Lord of the Rings -- their dwellings, their values and way of life.
It is available both as an individual pattern and as part of this eBook.

“Bilbo unwound several folds of old cloth, and held up a small shirt of mail. It was close-woven of many rings, as supple almost as linen, cold as ice, and harder than steel. It shone like moonlit silver, and was studded with white gems.”
In the Lord of the Rings, Bilbo gives his nephew, Frodo, a lightweight and immensely strong mithril chain “shirt” to use as armor as he sets out on his quest.

An I-cord bind off finishes the neckline and the hem.
