Mitred Corner for a Shawl
This has the chart for a mitred corner for a traditional Print of the Wave and Diamond Edge shawl border, although you could use it for any other item where you have used that border and need to turn a 90-degree corner. The mitred corner uses German short rows.
There is also a photo-tutorial on how to graft the beginning and end of the border together in pattern along with a chart for the straight part of the Print of the Wave and Diamond Edge border.
Addendum 21 June 2017: I’ve had so many emails asking about the centre of the shawl, which I never thought anyone would be interested in. So I have just added some general information about how I did the centre part of the shawl, (how many stitches I started with, how I did the corner increases, the names of the lace patterns I used and in which order and how I planned and charted it). You can find all this at the bottom of the pattern burble on my site, right under the icons for the border charts. I hope you find it useful if you’re interested in the whole shawl, and not just the border.
