Using two balls of this beautiful variegated yarn at the same time creates endless colour combinations for this crescent shaped shawl (cowl, neckerchief, scarf, wear it as you like !!)

The three rows of mitred squares are worked first using the ‘join as you go’ method and two yarns, one for the garter outer edge and one for the stocking stitch centre of each square. Care has been taken to ensure the squares really are square and not a diamond shape which some mitred square instructions produce.

The body of the shawl is then picked up and garter short rows are worked, but no wrapping is needed.

The pattern includes a full photographic tutorial for the mitred squares edging.

The shawl measures 174cm tip to tip, and 24cm depth at the centre after blocking.
