from Magknits:

After reading Mason-Dixon Knitting by Kay Gardener and Ann Shayne, I was inspired to try some mitered squares! I was also inspired by the fact that my 3-year old loves skirts, but they’re always too big for her! The answer of course lies in a handknit.

This skirt is actually quite easy to make, but the construction makes it unique. 2 strips of 4 mitered squares are combined in a tube to make the skirt. Two optional waists are included, as well as an attached I-cord hem.

For a less advanced version, you can knit all the squares separately and sew them together when you’re done.

Have fun with it - Try alternating solid colors to make stripes, or do each block in a new color!
