The advantage with alpaca yarn is that the fiber is soft and warmer than sheep’s wool. The disadvantage is that the fiber is not as tough and strong as wool, so might stretch and lose shape. To avoid this happening, we chose to use Ullcentrum’s 2-ply wool yarn in white together with the alpaca yarn for these mitts, as Ullcentrum’s Swedish wool keeps its shape well.
