Designed by our very own Judy T. as part of London Yarns in-house design team for Dragonpine Designs, ‘Staghorn Cables’ is an excellent ‘next step’ mitten pattern. Written in detail, line by line instructions are given so that Knitter’s of all skill levels, including Beginners can enjoy making these charming cabled mittens.

These mittens are knit in the round from the cuff up. After the traditional 2x2 ribbing is complete, we start into the Staghorn cable pattern on the front of the mitt and can then enjoy soothing stocking stitch while knitting the palm on each round.

As with Judy’s Mitten Basics Pattern and Mitten Magic Pattern, these mittens also include a contoured thumb gusset that fit the natural shape of our hands making them very comfortable to wear.

Notice the fine detail in the top shaping of each mitt. Judy has painstakingly adjusted the cable pattern to fit the top shaping without disrupting the flow of the cable pattern!

Knit in a worsted weight yarn, these mitts will work up quickly and be warm to wear. Pattern offers 3 finished adult sizes. Choose to knit these mittens in a solid, heathered or tweed yarn…the choice is yours!
