These mittens can be made with either a traditional celtic key motif (hence the name!) or a simpler chevron motif.

The convertible style has a gap to get your fingers out when you need more dexterity, or they can be made as plain mitts or fingerless mitts if you prefer.

Sizes:
Smaller size: to fit adult hand approx 20cm/8” around palm
Larger size: to fit adult hand approx 24cm/9.5” around palm.

Yarn: Kinross 4ply - fingering weight.
Smaller sizes and the larger size of fingerless mitts - 20g/82m of each of 3 colours

Larger size full/convertible mitts - 15g/60m of rib colour, 30g/125m of contrast 1 and 25g/105m of contrast 2.

If you are making them in two colours then you need 40g/165m of the main colour and 25g/105m of the contrast colour.

Needles:
3mm for the rib and 3.25mm for the body. A long circular for magic loop or DPNs are used.
