This tweed lover’s cowl has a houndstooth type of tweed stitch pattern spiced with a quattro stagioni flavour.

Four colours are used in a tweed stitch version of a popular cowl type, a multicoloured, striped loop knitted as a tube in the round.

The size in the pattern takes four balls of Rowan Fine Tweed. The size can be easily altered.

The tweed pattern is knitted with slipped stitches. There is always only one colour per row. The tweed stitch pattern can be found as Scottie Tweed in Barbara Walker’s book A Third Treasury of Knitting Patterns on page 229.

The final tension is a bit tighter, because the row length will change in washing.

Alternative yarns: Lang Yarns Donegal, Geilsk Tweed

Quattro stagioni = four seasons.
