Miyuki is a Japanese name that means ’Beautiful Snow’.

Where I live, in northern Canada, we can see snow anywhere from September through to May - be it a few pretty snowflakes to a few feet of the beautiful white stuff. Beanie season here - or toque season, as we call it in Canada - can be long and cold!

This hat is worked from the bottom up using a Foundation Double Chain (FDC). I highly recommend learning this technique if you have not already mastered it. It will absolutely change your hat making game, I promise.

The stitch combos used in this pattern are simple - but result in the prettiest texture. This is a fun, quick make and the finished hat is eye catching, soft and so cozy and comfortable.

Solid yarn or variegated. One color or striped/blocked. All of these look fantastic with this pattern.

The pattern is written for an average women’s head but it is so easily modified for other sizes.
