MK#35 Child Cardigan
This cardigan is all about shape and style. It has a very simple neckband and offset button closure. The back of the neck is elevated a little bit to make sure it fits comfortably with the top button done up. The body has a cocoon shape, flaring slightly and finished with a beautiful curved hem.
All garter stitch, no flourishes, but with the help of the easy short rows, it has a stylish shape with a bit of a vintage flavour and a modern touch. And of course, when the knitting is finished all we have to do is weave in the ends and sew on the buttons.
Like all minimal knits | DESIGNED children’s clothes, MK#35 provides plenty of room to grow and the sleeves can be neatly folded back.
The pictured cardigans were made with Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply Luxury machine washable wool in the colours Buttermilk and Boysenberry.
Skill Level Easy… even though it might include a technique you haven’t used before, the pattern contains simple, straightforward instructions and notes on where to look for more information.
