MK#37 Summer Girl's Cardigan
This seamless girl’s cardigan is made top down with integrated neck and button bands. When the knitting is finished just weave in the ends and sew on the buttons. With a very simple garter neckline that looks quite ornamental, this design was inspired by images in a 1980s pattern book given to me by a lovely friend.
Mostly stocking stitch, with a little garter trim along the edges, it has a circular style yoke made with easy yarn over loops to avoid the tightness that often happens when we use other increase techniques. It also has cap sleeves, and a subtle hi-lo curved hem making it perfect for layering over a summer dress or tank top.
The pictured cardigan was made with Cascade Yarns Ultra Pima DK/8ply in the colour Paprika
Skill Level Easy… even though it might include a technique you haven’t used before, the pattern contains simple, straightforward instructions and notes on where to look for more information.
