This pattern is dedicated to my cat Loekie, who has been with me for 16 years and passed away last August. Really nothing can describe the pain I went through after losing him. His presence has been one of the greatest gifts in my life and he was really special. Imagine, a cat you can take for a walk, into the woods and even to parties without a leach. I could set him free everywhere and all I had to do is whistle loudly, so he would know it’s time to go home. He amazed a lot of people who could hardly believe how strong a bond between humans and cats can be. But we loved each other madly!
All my love for him has gone into this design which helped me through the period of grief. Knitting this pattern requires patience but in the end you will be rewarded with a unique garment that hopefully comforts you as well.
