Mochila Cards
A Mochila is made with single crochet stitch through the back loop (US terms). For this pattern you crochet over 3 yarns. This will make the clutch firm.
A Mochila is crocheted with a small hook. A 2 mm hook is used most often. A 1,75, 2,25 or 2,5 mm hook can also be used.
Tension/gauge:
For a Mochila it is important that you have an even tension. You need to have about 7 to 8 stitches in 2 cm / 9 to 10 stitches in 1 inch. 2 rounds are 0,9 mm high.
Materials:
This Mochila clutch is made with mercerized cotton, 125 meter / 137 yards per 50 gram. For the gold accent color, I used Durable Glam.
Materials used:
(based on 50 gram skeins, of the recommended yarn. See yarn suggestions above.)
- 2 skeins black
- 1 skein red
- 1 skein white
- 1 skein gold (Durable Glam)
- Crochet hook between 1.75 and 2,5 mm. A 2 mm hook is used most often.
- Zipper
- Stitch markers
- Sewing thread
Size:
The bottom of this clutch is about 23 cm by 2 cm / 9 inch by 0.8 inch. The height of the clutch is about 14 cm / 5.5 inch.
These measurements are obtained with the recommended yarn and with the tension/gauge mentioned above.
If you use different yarn or your tension is different, the measurements can be different.
The pattern includes:
