Mock Turtles Playing
Turtles love to play in the garden, leaving a wonderful wavy pattern in the sand. The mock eyelet cable outlines the turtle tracks. This easy toe up pattern can be reversed for a cuff down version, but you need to start at row 1. I used a variation on the FLK heel, called Kiss the Partridge but instead of slip 1 with yarn behind, I chose to slip 1 with yarn in FRONT for Linen Stitch. It gives the heel more strength and is very pretty with the pattern.
For a more wedge toe, make sure that you knit at least 1.5” of toe before you start the foot. For a loose cuff, use your favourite stretchy bind off.
