The yeast species Saccharomyces cerevisiae is famously used in the production of bread and beer. However, it is also very important model organism in genetics and cell biology research.
S. cerevisiae is known as budding yeast due to its method of reproduction, which takes place in an asymmetric division process known as budding.
Supplies
• Cream coloured DK yarn, less than 50g
• 3.5mm hook
• Small amount of stuffing
• Yarn needle
