This coat fits closely in the bust and waist and flares out into a voluminous skirt. It is a warm but surprisingly light weight, 2.3-3lbs.
It is lightly felted: one “normal” wash and dry cycle in a front loading washer and dryer. Felting makes it tighter so it doesn’t sag and it gives the fabric a beautiful soft hand. Don’t be afraid of how large it is before shrinking.
I’ve made this coat by hand and by machine. I used Knit Picks Telemark yarn but any 100% wool in the same weight that is not superwash has the potential to work. Do a sample swatch
