Modern Cloche
The Modern Cloche is perfect for those seeking a loose fitting hat with a little flare. Knit with contrasting yarns for extra interest and a double layer brim, this classy hat is warm and stylish.
Size: Average Adult (22” unstretched)
Gauge: 24st/4” using US 5 needles
Needles: US 4, 5, 6 and 7 16” Circular Needles and US 5 Double Points
Note: You ask why so many needles? Well, by increasing the size of the needle, the bottom of the hat will flare out and provide some extra shaping. And you ask why two different yarns? Well, Wool Bam Boo is a smooth finish yarn and Fresco tends to fluff up. The difference makes for a great contrast!
Materials: Brim shown in Classic Elite’s Wool Bam Boo (50% wool, 50% Bamboo: 118 yds/50g) and Crown shown in Classic Elite’s Fresco (60% Wool, 30% Baby Alpaca, 10% Angora: 164 yds/50g)
Yardage:
Brim: Shown in Wool Bam Boo - you’ll need approximately 150 yards (2 skeins),
Crown: Shown in Fresco - you’ll need approximately 100 yards (1 skein)
Notions: Stitch Marker, 2 yards of waste yarn
Skill Level: Intermediate
