Modern Folk is a circular yoke sweater knit seamlessly from the top down. This size-inclusive design features a bold and striking colorwork yoke and waist, making it a beautiful statement piece.
This is an ideal project for using up small amounts of worsted-weight yarn that aren’t quite enough for a full garment. The relaxed design is versatile and comfortable, perfect for layering or wearing on warmer days.
About the Design:
- Top-down construction with a seamless circular yoke
- Colorwork yoke & waist – an engaging challenge for stranded knitting enthusiasts
- Short rows and carefully placed increases ensure a flattering fit
- Size range: 32” to 64” (81 cm to 162 cm) bust circumference
- Includes charts & helpful links for stranded colorwork techniques
The sweater is knit in the round, except for a few short rows placed after the yoke pattern to improve the fit. The length can easily be adjusted, and the pattern provides instructions (just remember that length changes will affect the yardage required).
If you love intricate and engaging patterns, this is the perfect project for you!
Techniques used: short rows, circular knitting, increases & decreases, stranded colorwork, following color charts, and placing stitches on hold.
