Modern love is an oversized, cropped and dropped shoulder sweater with a large positive ease wich features fun stripes that show off the yarn color. It’s knitted with two types of yarn: a fingering and a lace weight yarn, but it can be knitted with just one type of yarn. If mohair is used as a lace weight yarn, it must be knitted using two strands held together, but if suri baby alpaca yarn is used (as in the original model) it can be knitted using just one strand since suri baby alpaca is fluffier and thicker than mohair.The body is knitted from bottom to top, starting in the bottom of the body in rounds till the arm-hole. Then, the front and the back are knitted one by one back and forth. Shoulders are joined by a three needle bind off. Finally, the stitches from the sleeves are picked up to knit them in rounds from top to bottom

1 (2, 3) equivalent to 117 (140, 161) cm of bust circumference (finished measurements) with 50-70 cm of positive ease.

GAUGE

18 sts & 27 rows = 10 cm on larger needles and fingering weight yarn. Measured over stockinette stitch after blocking.

NEEDLES
Recommended needles (to get the gauge):
4.5mm/US 7 circular needles for the body, with a cable of 80 cm
3.5mm/US 4 circular needles for the hem, with a cable of 80 cm.
4.5mm/US7 DPNs for the sleeves, or circular needle with a cable length appropiate for magic loop.
3.5mm/US4 circular needles for the neckband, with a cable of 40 cm.

NOTIONS
Recommended: stitch markers, scrap yarn (to hold stitches), tapestry needle (to weave ends), block mats and pins.

ESPAÑOL

Modern love es un sweater oversize de hombros caídos y de largo tipo crop top con una gran holgura positiva. Con este diseño se busca resaltar principalmente los colores del hilado mediante un divertido motivo de rayas horizontales. Es un patrón simple y perfecto para principiantes, con pequeños detalles que lo hacen diferente. Está tejido con dos tipos de hilado: uno de grosor fingering y otro de grosor lace, Sin embargo también puede ser tejido con un solo tipo de hilado si así lo deseas. Si utilizas un hilado de grosor lace a base de mohair, deberás tejerlo doble (2 hebras juntas), pero si utilizas baby alpaca suri como el modelo original, puedes usar solo una hebra, ya que la lana de baby alpaca suri es más tupida que el mohair, aunque dan un efecto similar en el tejido.
El cuerpo está tejido de abajo hacia arriba: comenzarás tejiendo la pretina inferior en circular, luego el delantero y la espalda se tejen por separado y en plano. Los hombros se unen con un cierre de tres agujas. Finalmente, se toman los puntos de las mangas y se tejen de arriba hacia abajo.

1 (2, 3) que equivalen a 117 (140, 161) cm de busto (medidas finales) con 50-60 cm de holgura positiva.

MUESTRA

18 p y 27 vtas = 10 cm con las agujas más grandes y el hilado de grosor fingering. Medido en punto jersey después de haber sido bloqueado.

Agujas recomendadas (para obtener la muestra) :
agujas circulares de 4.5mm/US 7 para el cuerpo, con un cable de 80 cm.
Agujas circulares 3.5mm/US 4 para la pretina, con un cable de 80 cm.
Agujas de doble punta de 4.5mm/US7 DPNs para las marcas, o agujas circulares con un cable de largo apropiado para hacer magic loop.
Agujas circulares de 3.5mm/US4 para el elástico del cuello, con un cable de 40 cm.

MATERIALES

Recomendado: marcadores de punto, hilado de deshecho (para sostener puntos), aguja de lana (para esconder las hebras), pines y mats de bloqueo.
