Modern Retro Wrap
The pattern:
Worked in a fine, woolly, Shetland-style fingering, the wrap has a slightly retro look, while at the same time its clean lines and the many ways in which a long rectangle can be worn make it perfect for wear in 2015 (and beyond!)
Given appropriate yardage and needle size, it could be made in a wide variety of yarn weights or fibres for a different look.
Yarn:
1570 yds / 1435 m light fingering
The sample was made with Host Garn Supersoft 100% Uld, colour way “Nougat”. The yardage above represents 250 grams of Supersoft, which is a slightly generous allowance.
Gauge:
The average gauge in stocking stitch for Holst Garn Supersoft is 25 sts = 10 cm / 4 in.
Gauge is not critical for this type of knitting. The most important consideration is the appearance and drape of your fabric. A washed and blocked swatch is recommended.
Measurements (blocked):
22” x 75 “ / 56 x 190 cm.
