A modern take on the baby blanket. With alternating single crochet and simple patterned stripes, it works up quickly and is easy enough for even new crocheters. It’s easy to adjust to a different size too depending on the yardage of your yarn. This would be beautiful done in just two colors too. Plus, it’s completely reversible!

Although gauge is not critical for this project, it may change yardage needed. The patterned stripes in this blanket used the entire skein of yarn and the single crochet stripes took just shy of the whole skein. If your skeins have different yardage or if you’re gauge is different you many want to adjust the size of the stripes or the width of the blanket. The pattern stitch is a two stitch repeat so you can change the stitch count at the beginning by a multiple of two stitches and the pattern will still come out right.
