This is my first Granny Square Blanket and I really enjoyed making it. It’s made up of 40 Traditional Granny Squares that are 8 inches in width, before the white border. I wanted to make it because when my brother and I were born my mom received baby blankets for us. I still have mine to this day and I’m 36 years old. Mine is a twin size. I figured if mine lasted this long maybe this one could too.

If you’re a beginner this is a great square to make. I say that because you’re not going into any stitch you’re crocheting into spaces. It’s so much easier that way.

I have the instructions written 2 ways. One is the traditional way of writing a pattern and the other pattern is without the repeats. I even get tired of deciphering patterns.

Hook Size: I (squares) H (sewing)
Amount of Squares: 30 (Color Pattern 1) 10 (Color Pattern) = 40
Squares: 8 rows before border
Size: 62x41

Yarns used: Change yarn every 2 rows
Caron 1 pound, Blue and Tan, Worsted Weight, 812 yards (see yardage below) 1 Skein of Red Heart, White
