Modified "Twist" Headband with Irish Rose
This headband is a modified version of my other headband/earwarmer called “The Twist”. I wanted to add gentle shaping to this headband, to create a “fatter” cable in the middle section, and add lots more texture for a stretchier fabric. (Note: The headband in charcoal grey has the 8 post stitches for the main cable, whereas the others shown only have 6 post stitches.)
In this pattern, I used lots of post stitches to create the three cables, 2 small ones and 1 large one. There is also a special edging for which I have included a photo tutorial. The Irish rose instructions are included if you choose to add that to your headband. Thus, the skill level recommended is intermediate, but if you’re an adventuresome easy-level crocheter, it is definitely worth the effort!
This pattern calls for worsted weight (#4) yarn and an I crochet hook.
