The beautiful Hand dyed yarn of Bilum inspired me to work out this fantastic Moebius. It’s an unusual one as we start as a Moebius in rounds, but later we change to straight knitting. With the short rows the colors are fantastically “growing” around.

Gauge
28 sts and 42 rows per 10cm / 4”, worked in straight knitting in stitch pattern, after blocking.
Changes in gauge, while not crucial for the fit of the project, will result in size differences and affect the amount of yarn needed to complete the project.

Construction
It starts with a normal moebius in the round. When the work is 10cm / 4” measured side to side, it will be worked in straight knitting with short rows to bring the special effect of the gradient yarn to life. Increasing one st at the beginning of every right side row shapes the Ammonit look.

Das wunderschöne handgefärbte Garn von Bilum inspirierte mich, diesen fantastischen Moebius zu entwickeln. Es ist ungewöhnlich, da er als Moebius in Runden beginnt, aber später wird er in Reihen gestrickt. Dank den verkürzten Reihen wird die Färbung exzellent in Szene gesetzt.

Maschenprobe
28 M and 42 Reihen per 10cm / 4”, in Reihen im Grundmuster, nach waschen und spannen.
Arbeitest du mit einer anderen Maschenprobenzahl hat dies zwar keinen Einfluss auf den Sitz des Tuches, jedoch auf den Wollverbrauch um das Projekt fertig zu stellen.

Konstruktion
Es beginnt mit einem normalen Moebius in der Runde. Wenn die Arbeit 10 cm / 4” von Strickkante zu Strickkante misst, wird sie in Reihen mit verkürzten Reihen gestrickt, um die besondere Wirkung des Farbverlaufgarns zum Leben zu erwecken. Am Anfang jeder Vorderseitenreihe wird eine Masche aufgenommen, dies ergibt das typische Ammonit Aussehen.
