A moebius is a mathematical shape which has only one side and only one edge. As a result, every time you work one round of this scarf you add two rows to the width. This may sound complicated but in actual fact it is very simple to produce this effect - and with out sewing up seams!

The instructions given are for an adults size hat and scarf. You can omit some of the increasing rows on the hat and reduce the starting chain on the scarf for a child size. If altering the size in any way, make sure that the total number of dc’s are divisible by 3 for the pattern round (15 on hat and 5 on scarf) to work.
