The Mojito Sweater is a flirty, 2 toned slightly cropped sweater with a ¾ length sleeve. It is a super fun and quick knit. It is knit flat and seamed together later, using simple stitches: stockinette, knits, purls, yarn overs and a special ribbing method (see video instructions). It can be worn slightly off the shoulder or as a boat neck style sweater. This top features a slightly cropped length and one of my favorite lace flower stitches! Pick your 2 favorite colors of We Are Knitters pima cotton yarn, or any other yarn with a similar fiber and gauge and enjoy knitting Mojito!

We will be using a “tubular” like cast on method. It is not the same as a regular tubular cast on, so please watch the video carefully as it is very detailed. Lace knitting needles are easiest to work this method of ribbing.

You can easily adapt the body of the sweater to be longer instead of the cropped length by knitting more rows of stockinette on your front and back pieces before beginning the lace flowers. The pattern also includes instructions to make the sleeves full length instated of ¾ length.

Additional Gauge info:
19 stitches + 24 rows = 10cm x 10cm (4” x 4”) for the body knit in stockinette stitch after blocking with 5mm (US8/UK6) needles.
20 stitches + 28 rows = 10cm x 10cm (4” x 4”) for the lace flower stitches after blocking with 4.5mm (US7/UK7) needles.
Gauge is important for this project, so it is a good idea to block your swatch. Adjust needle size to obtain gauge if necessary.

DK yarn: As an alternative to the WAK Pima Cotton, you can also use Cascade Ultra Pima Cotton, but then you may want to go down to size 4mm (US6/UK8) knitting needles to obtain gauge.

You can also hold 2 strands double to knit this sweater by using Fingering + lace held double: You can use any fingering weight yarn held double with lace or lace mohair.

Bust measurements are calculated using an average across all sizes.
XS: For bust of: 28”-30” (71cm-76.2cm) giving approximately 3”-6” (7.6cm-15.2cm) of positive ease.
S: For bust: 31”-33” (78.7cm-83.8cm) giving approximately 3”-6” (7.6cm-15.2cm) of positive ease.
M: For bust: 34”-37” (86.3cm-93.9cm) giving approximately 3”-6” (7.6cm-15.2cm) of positive ease.
L: For bust: 38”-41” (96.5cm-104.1cm) giving approximately 3”-6” (7.6cm-15.2cm) of positive ease. XL: For bust: 42”-45” (106.6cm-114.3cm) giving approximately 3”-6” (7.6cm-15.2cm) of positive ease.
