Mokosh
Mokosh is the name of an ancient Slavic goddess associated with dispensing the water of life, shearing sheep, and spinning flax and wool. The pattern in this shawl reminds me of gentle ripples of water gliding towards shore and lapping eagerly against the sand. Worked from the center spine outwards to the tips, with the edging completed simultaneously with the body, this project flows quickly towards completion. A wonderful blending of wool and water that I think might suit Mokosh’s sensibilities.
