Moksha
The Moksha sweater is a slightly cropped, raglan pullover with a slouchy fit through the body and sleeves, and ¾ length sleeves with close fitting cuffs. The contrast of both texture and color at the cuffs and hem gives the sweater both a fun yet refined feel to it, and the unique combination of smocking and corrugated ribbing means that guaranteed not to see anyone else strutting out in one of these at your next early-winter high-tea date.
This worsted weight sweater is all about the flow between textures; the substantial, layered textures of the corrugated smocking at the cuffs and hem release seamlessly into the more natural rustic texture of the tweedy stockinette body.
The sweater is knit seamless from the top-down, starting with an icord cast-on which serves as a foundation for a neckline edging that is picked up and knitted upwards later, creating a sturdy, and slightly gathered effect of a neckline that looks as if it was sewed on…but only you and I will know that it wasn’t!
The decorative raglan shoulder shaping and short-row shaping at the back neck ensures a great fit, and the deep armholes make this one of those classic comfy pullovers that you’ll reach for again and again.
Moksha is a sanskrit word that refers to a state of liberation, emancipation, or release, and to me the chunky strands of corrugated rib twining in and out of the smocked clusters and disappearing into the tweedy stockinette body reminded me of a sense of escape from the struggles of daily life. And how better to escape, than with tweedy yarn and pullover goodness.
Moksha is being offered in Womens, S, M, L.
