Molly
I designed this shawl as an exercise in magic. I wanted something that shows off the beauty and magical opportunities of the Dundaga’s multi-coloured yarn, simple and easy to do yet amazing to look at.
I named it after Mrs. Weasley who is quite a special witch. She looks like ‘just a stay at home mother’ and yet she is my hero. She is a strong, wise, fierce, no-nonsense witch. The more I think about it, the more fitting I find this name.
There are many ways to make this shawl truly unique: colours of the yarns is just one of them. You choose the rhythm of the stripes in the chevron section and the intervals between increases and decreases in the chevron section determine the size of the blocks in the entrelac section. In this pattern I give two versions of the shawl: regular and multi-shaped. It reminds me of an exercise we used to do at art school — take a picture and pick out the colour palette from it, then dye the yarn to match it.
Big thank you to all my testers and editors for all your hard work and trust in me! Since you have been waiting for this very patiently, please, use the code IWaitedForThis to get 20% off til the end of October.
