Molly's Blankie
Kids love it because it’s the perfect size for taking anywhere. Mom’s love it because it’s easy care, machine wash & dry. And knitters love it because it’s made of all natural fibers, fast and fun to knit!
About the pattern: This blankie is worked back and forth using one strand of yarn to create a waffle pattern with a garter stitch border.
Finished size: Approx. 30” x 30”
Materials: 645 yards of worsted weight yarn and US size 7, 32” circular needles. (Hint: use sharp tips for easier picking up of yarn without splitting.)
Suggested yarn: Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece - 80% Cotton, 20% Merino, 215 yards per 100 grams (3 skeins).
Gauge: 19 stitches x 20 rows = 4” in waffle pattern. Gauge is not critical but aiming for a slightly loose knitted fabric gives this blanket a wonderful drape that kids love.
