I was asked to make a beanie set for a pregnant work collegue as gift from another of her collegues.
Requirements: it should feature the color pink and have a pink pompon and as the mommy is a highly decorated endurance rider horses should be on it.
And the baby hat should have some chords.

So I sat down and drafted this cute beanie set and knit it up to the requested date.
Pst… she has not yet seen it :)
She asked us to get her gift after her baby is born and it’s still a little while until then.

The color pink is not one of her favorite colors. So the other collegue wanted to tease her a little.
But as I combined white and brown with the pink it is not so dominant and not so much of a pink lady beanie :)

Mom’s beanie starts with a multi-color ribbing. The kids beanie with the earflaps in one color but with three color chords.
The earflaps are easy to knit.

Then follows the main motive, horses and horseshoe. Mother’s beanie has an additional flower band.
The top is especially lovely with prancing horses and the pink pompon on top.

I used Merino Superfine from Lana Grossa. But you can also use 4- to 5-ply Acrylic or 4-ply sock yarn. Then the size will come out a bit smaller (with 4-ply yarn, with 5-ply bigger).

Eine Arbeitskollegin hat sich für ihre schwangere Kollegin als Geschenk ein Bommelmützenset gewünscht.
Es mußte die Farbe pink enthalten sein und eine pinke Bommel haben, weil die Kollegin Bommelmützen liebt. Weil die schwangere Kollegin die Farbe nicht besonders mag. Also als kleiner Gag…
Dadurch, dass ich das eher “Fuchsia”-Pink mit weiß und braun kombiniert habe, ist es auch nicht so dominant.
Pferde sollten drin sein, weil die Empfängerin eine erfolgreiche Distanzreiterin ist.
Die Babymütze sollte bindbar sein.
Also habe ich mich hingesetzt und dieses Mützenset entworfen.
Ich habe zuerst als Test meine erste Ohrenklappenmütze (die Pinguine) gestrickt. Das ging ganz gut und diente dann als Vorlage für die Ohrenklappen. Ein paar Sachen habe ich noch verbessert.

Die Mama-Mütze hat einen mehrfarbigen Bund, aber es sind maximal 2 Farben in einer Runde!
Die Babymütze beginnt dagegen einfarbig, aber mit bunten Kordeln und geht erst dann in die Hauptmotive der Mütze über.
Es folgen Pferdemotiv und Hufeisenbordüre.
Den Mützenabschluß bilden bei beiden tänzelnde Pferde und eine pinke Bommel.

Ich hab das Set auf Wunsch in Merinowolle (Lana Grossa Superfein) gestrickt. Sie fallen daher etwas größer aus als die Babymützen/Mützen mit Sockenwolle oder mit 4-fach Acrylwolle, die Ihr alternativ verwenden könnt.
Strickt Ihr die Mützen mit 5 - fach Garn, fallen sie etwas größer aus.

Die Mützen hat sie noch nicht gesehen. Also pst…!
Sie möchte nämlich ihr Babygeschenk erst, wenn das Kind da ist und es ist noch ein Weilchen hin…
