To celebrate World Animal Day, I’m releasing this fun free pattern for a pet bed. It’s very easy, although you will benefit from some crochet experience. This pet bed is 60cm wide and you can make it even bigger if you want, so it’s surely not just for cats. And if you don’t have any little critters to make this for, consider making it as a floor cushion for your kids or for yourself. It’s super comfy to sit on, or to have on your couch as an extra pillow or even as an armrest.

You will need:
3 balls of Scheepjes Furry Tales (I used colour 983 Tinkerbell)
5 balls of Scheepjes Stone Washed XL (I used colour 866 Forsterite)
60cm diameter (23.5in) inner cushion
hook sizes 4 and 5 mm
scissors, darning needles, some thin sewing thread.

This pet bed consists of two circles which are each crocheted separately from the center outwards and then joined together. One circle uses Scheepjes Furry Tales, the other uses Scheepjes Stone Washed XL. After crocheting, they are sewn together along the outer edge, stuffed with an inner cushion, and then sewn completely closed. The pet bed cover is not removable, it is made to be washed in its entirety. After sewing along the outer edge, sew a ‘dimple’ in the center of the cushion by sewing through both sides.
