To make the butterfly hood, you’ll need the following materials:
• 100% acrylic yarn, worsted weight (amounts and colors listed in the pattern)
• Crochet hook size: 6.50mm, 5.00mm & 4.00mm
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers that hook together, pins or some other way to pin crochet pieces in place
• Fabric Glue (I like Aleene’s Tacky Glue)
• Two black pipe cleaners or 22 gauge floral wire cut to 12” length
Pattern Skill Level: Intermediate
Other skills to be familiar with: all basic crochet stitches (sc, hdc, dc), decrease and increase stitches, crocheting into the back of the foundation chain (to create an oval shape), how to sew together crochet pieces.
Sizing info: This hood is one-size-fits-most adults and teens. It is approximately 10” wide and 16.5” tall (not including the height of the antennae). The hood has a 15” wide maximum opening.
