I tried to make my monarch caterpillar look as realistic as possible, but I think other textures of wool would work for interesting effects.

I have replaced this first version of the pattern, with a new Monarch Caterpillar and Chrysallis pattern, which is a much easier knit, on two needles. Please feel free to email me if you are interested in this original version, which is knitted in the round.
