The Monarch is a larger, thicker and more dense version of our Spring Monarch Beret and Newsboy pattern, using super bulky yarn instead of bulky yarn. The Monarch is so named because the shape reminds me of a kings crown. The ribbed sections give the hat great character and structure. Add a brim, a buckle and strap to turn the beret into a newsboy hat.
This pattern is written in American crochet terms and is appropriate for an intermediate and beyond.
