Monet’s Garden, A full sized romantic shawl knitted in Garter Stitch. Side to side construction features a go-as-you-knit flounced border and faggot insertion. Due to increase/decrease intervals, this shawl sits well over the shoulders, avoiding slippage, and can be worn in many ways.

Yardage: 650 - 700 yards Fingering weight yarn.

Gauge: 4” / 10 cm = 19 sts x 26 rows in Garter Stitch. It is best to knit a gauge swatch.

Note: The marker placement and first ‘slip marker’ motion is indicated as ‘PM’ and ‘SLM’, after which, it is no longer indicated as you are expected to slip the marker as it is approached.

Also, the marker separates the start of the faggoting from the body of the shawl. While knitting, this is apparent. Within the written pattern, the faggoting section is indicated by brackets. This was done as a visual for those who do not follow charts. For those who do follow charts, the start of the chart is the start of the faggoting. Again, once a few rows are knitted, this is all very apparent.
