This Money Bag is knit from the bottom up and in addition to a climbing chalk bag, makes excellent dog treat pouches or small cinched purses. Weave in a cord or string to make a cinch closure. I prefer to knit them with the magic loop method, but you could also use double-pointed needles. This pattern is for a standard-size climbing chalk bag (around 7 inches high and 5 inches in diameter) and a small chalk bag (around 5 inches high and 4 inches in diameter).

An elastic cord, cord lock, and nylon strap are used for the closure and belt loop. The instructions also include steps to line the bag with fabric, fleece being the most effective at containing climbing chalk dust.
