Monkey
This listing is for the pattern for the pictured 6 inch tall monkey and is intended for intermediate skilled crocheters. The pattern is clearly explained in North American terms.
Amigurumi is the Japanese term referring to small crocheted or knitted animals, dolls, and other works. Needles and hooks are smaller than usual for the yarn to reduce the space between stitches. Typically, amigurumi is worked in a continuous spiral - rounds (rows) are not connected using a slip stitch. Rather, round beginnings or ends are distinguished using stitch markers. These can as simple as a length of contrasting yarn, safety pins, or paperclips and are can be found with craft supplies in stores.
