Monkey Amigurumi
This pattern only uses basic crochet stitches and comes with extra instructions for using wires to make poseable hands, legs and tail. It has 15 pages of instructions with 36 photos to help you follow along easily. You will need to use these techniques in this pattern:
-Crocheting in continuous round
-Forming a magic ring
-Handling of small crochet parts
-slip stitch (ss)
-chain stitch (ch)
-single crochet (sc)
-single crochet increase (sc inc)
-single crochet decrease (sc dec)
-half double crochet (hdc)
-single crochet 3 together (sc3tog)
Using fingering yarn with 2.5mm hook will produce a monkey of about 10cm/3.9in tall (sitting down and including banana) and 7.5cm/3in wide. You can use a thicker yarn to make a larger monkey or use a thinner yarn to make a smaller monkey.
You will need the following materials for this project (based on fingering yarn):
-Light Brown yarn
-Beige yarn
-Yellow yarn
-Red yarn
-Black embroidery thread
-White embroidery thread
-Stuffing
-Crochet Hook 2.5mm (or a hook size suitable for your yarn)
-Felting needle + pink felting wool OR pink felt and glue
-Yarn needle
-Wire (optional, for making poseable limbs and tail)
-Wire cutter (if using wire)
-Pliers (if using wire)
